M48 Junction 2  Chepstow  The Lime Tree  01291 620959  ££  Back to M48

10 min.  Take the A446 towards Chepstow.  Turn on to the A48 at the roundabout, then follow the signs to the town centre.  Drive through the town, down the hill until you reach the car park on Bridge Street on the left, by the tourist information centre and the castle and opposite the museum and the Castle View Hotel.  There are a couple of other car parks in the town if you miss this one!

The Lime Tee is at 24 St Mary's Street, which is pedestrianised, with a back entrance on Middle Street, back up the hill (you will probably have driven past it!).

Food and coffee served 8.30am to 11pm seven days a week.

A lovely, relaxed and friendly cafe restaurant with a great vegetarian and healthy selection.

This is not the easiest place to get to, but if you've got the time, it's well worth it.  Chepstow itself makes for a pleasant stop with views over the river Wye and a selection of places to eat and drink.  The Lime Tree is welcoming and accommodating with great food.  We had the Mozzarella and mushroom burger off the main menu and a Risotto Primavera (without the parmesan) off the specials board.  Both were excellent, obviously prepared with care and by someone who understood vegetarian food.  We were with a large party who all had nothing but praise for their meals.  The toilets also came in for special mention as being a cut above!
